Major General Peters is a graduate of the United States Army Armor, Field Artillery, Engineer and Quartermaster Schools, the Infantry Advanced Course, and the United States Army Command and General Staff College.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in History, a Master’s degree in Military Arts and Sciences and a Master’s degree in Public Administration.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A & M University at Commerce and a Master of Science degree from the University of Texas at Tyler.
